- build without rpm support. This was the old behavior, until 9.2 it really
just depended on whether the build host had rpm-devel installed.
- All versions except 9.2 were compiled without rpm support and noone
complained, whereas many people complained about the extra dependency
in 9.2.
- It also creates problems in postxif/cyrus-imapd under user-mode linux.
Linking with both db4 and librpmdb, which have the same symbols, causes
confusion, weird behavior, and potential segfaults.
- According to rfc 1514 (Host Resources MIB), paragraph 4.7, this feature is
optional.
- It can also create security risks, by making all versions of packages
installed remotely.
- I guess if someone needs snmp rpm support badly, they\'re mostly
experienced sysadmins and can recompile the package.
