This makes it possible to change the current input mode from the command line. And with “rememberinputmode” one can choose whether the last used input mode should be remembered and be used again when a new session starts or whether a new session should always start in table mode. But catching the exception should fix it, it should make ibus-table continue working normally if any such serious problem with playing sounds occurs.
