Summary : A host for native VST plugins on linux
|
Description :
Jost is a audio host application for plugins that can be used as plugin itself, or be compiled as a cross bridge between multiple audio plugin technologies. Jost is the first open source native vst host application for linux.
Jost will mainly host a chain of VST/LADSPA/DSSI plugins per instance, and you can control the internal signal flow by virtual patch cables for audio and MIDI. Externally, it publishes jack and alsa_seq ports in order to be connected to your main stream flow.
Jost is currently under heavy development, but nevertheless has some very good features that make it a first class host (well, judge by yourself!).
Written in C++ using the JUCE framework (www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juce).
This tool is not made to be good or to be bad, to like or not to like... it was just made to be what it means to be!
