Summary : The Standard UNIX FTP Client (with SSL/TLS support)
|
Description :
This package provides the standard UNIX command line FTP client with added support for SSL/TLS. FTP is the file transfer protocol, which is a widely used Internet protocol for transferring files.
This package is built from sources found in Debian Sid.
The TLS patch was downloaded from ttp://www.saftware.de/patches/ftp_tls.diff.
Netkit-ftp-ssl is now supporting TLS authentication and (optional) data connection encryption according to http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-murray-auth-ftp-ssl-16.txt .
The default is to fall back to insecure authentication if AUTH TLS is not supported by the server to match the current behaviour of the AUTH SSL code.
If you specify \"-z secure\", then encryption of both the control and the data connection are required.
