Description :
These binaries have been compiled some time in 1998 when statically
linking was still possible without any pain, and when 64-bit systems
were not exactly around the corner yet. They shall serve as a last
resort when the admin has messed up the place, and nothing else works.
Occasions for this include
* the dynamic linker is hosed
* libc.so.6 or other shared libraries are defective, incompatible or otherwise unuseable
* filesystem brokenness
This package contains the statically linked binaries in their source,
so there is nothing to compile.
The version used was 3.16.
