The CUPS Driver Development Kit (DDK) provides
a suite of standard drivers, a PPD file compiler,
and other utilities that can be used to develop
printer drivers for CUPS.
CUPS >= 1.6 has major incompatible changes compared to CUPS 1.5.
After a version upgrade to CUPS >= 1.6 printing in the network
would no longer work as it did up to CUPS 1.5.
