Tools/scripts for linux: nmon, mlog, xdf, xumount, psg, xfdisk, xmdf, stress nmon = system perf analyzer. homepage: http://nmon.sourceforge.net/ ( there are linux and aix versions ) For a linux/nmon build specifically for your distrib, install this package first and then find nmonx for your distribution: fedora, opensuse, sles, rhel, mandriva etc. mlog = tails your /var/log/messages xdf = does df on 1 device, e.g: xdf sda ( no need to prefix with /dev ) xumount = does umount for all mounted fs\'s on a device, e.g: xumount sde unmounts all filesystems on /dev/sde psg = searches processes by name, and can optionally signal them with a kill signal, with or without interactive confirmation ( -n switch ) xmdf = shows all fs\'s on all or a specific device and wether they are mounted or not stress = tool to test kernel / system stability. homepage: http://weather.ou.edu/~apw/projects/stress/
