Summary : EPICS CAN driver for ISEG HV, THMP, LED pulser
|
Description :
EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) is a toolchain allowing the user to create a professional control system infrastructure. EPICS is developed by the Argonne National Laboratory located in Lemont, Illinois, USA, the Berliner Elektronenspeicherring-Gesellschaft für Synchrotonstrahlung mbH (BESSY) from Germany and others.
This driver has been written by Florian Feldbauer for the PANDA experiment. It can operate several devices created for or used in PANDA like ISEG EDS/EHS high voltage supplies, the THMP (Temperature and Humidity Monitoring Board for PANDA), the PANDA LED pulser and others. All the devices communicate via a CAN bus. The driver uses the CAN facilities provided by the Linux kernel, so any CAN access device that can be used like a network interface under Linux will work.
