Description :
Attic is a secure backup program designed for efficient data storage where
only new or modified data is stored.
Attic\'s unique features:
* Space efficient storage:
- variable block size deduplication by detecting redundant data
- each file is split into chunks & only new chunks added
- all data chunks are compressed
- can delete & prune archives at any time, removing old archives
* Optional data encryption
- 256-bit AES encryption and data integrity, verified with HMAC-SHA256
- can use a passphrase, key file or both
* Off-site backups
- backup to any remote host over SSH as long as Attic is installed
- backup to any mountable storage media (local and network)
* Backups mountable as filesystems
- backups are mountable as userspace filesystems for easy restores
- restore the full backup or individual files only
