Description :
Vim is a heavily improved free clone of Vi, the Unix text editor.
Vim is almost 100% compatible to Vi (except Vi\'s bugs), but adds many cool
features that make it a really powerful text editor, including unlimited undo,
command line editing and history, mupltiple windows and buffers, sessions,
support for many charsets and languages, including multibyte, Unicode, and
rightleft editing, flexible syntax highlighting and text indenting with presets
for more than 350 languages, file format detection and conversion, folding,
automatic commands, a scripting language, editing files over network,
encryption, interfaces to Perl, Tcl, Python, Ruby, Cscope, Sniff, Netbeans and
Sun Visual Workshop, diff mode, support for X-windows with configurable menus,
button bars and support for mouse, an integrated comprehensive help system,
remote control and much more.
Vim is Charityware. You can use and copy it as much as you like, but you are
encouraged to make a donation to orphans in Uganda.
This package contains Vim compiled with Gtk+1 GUI support and a considerable
amount of enhanced features, excluding all the interfaces except Cscope and
support for some Asian languages.
This is a standalone package, you don\'t have to install vim-common too, in
fact, it probably conflicts with all other other Vim packages.
WARNING:
This package does NOT contain vim62.
It is tweaked version with some experimental patches. Do NOT use or even
redistribute if you are not 100% sure what you are doing.
