Summary : Is a forwarding (non-caching) compressing HTTP proxy server
|
Description :
Fully configurable, high performance, forwarding (non-caching) HTTP proxy for traffic acceleration purposes. Its primary feature is the capability of recompressing images to lower-quality ones and compressing data to gzip, thus reducing the data size and providing the aforementioned acceleration. The additional features Ziproxy provides are: - Recompression to JPEG 2000 instead of \"regular\" JPEG (default Ziproxy) for better image quality (compared to similarly-sized JPEG). - ToS packet tagging. Makes possible L7 traffic shaping and new QoS possibilities. - Transparent proxy support. - Block/filter specified URLs and Content-Types. May be used as an ad-blocker. - Basic HTTP authentication. - A number of unusual features: HTML/JS/CSS optimization, outgoing IP rotation, preemptive name resolution etc. - A number of security provisions (see config options). - Detailed logging with compression statistics.
