Description :
The services package provides the fundamental applications needed for VMware Tools to function. It includes the pivotal VMware Tools daemon (vmtoolsd) which allows the majority of services to function on guest operating systems. It also includes the command line version of the VMware toolbox to adjust settings within tools and a few other libraries needed for functionality.

NOTE: This is an OSP component package and is generally not directly installed by end users. The standard practice is to pick a VMware Tools meta packages (such as vmware-tools-esx or vmware-tools-esx-nox) and install it. Those meta packages will create dependencies on component packages such as this one if necessary. Only install this package directly if you intend to create a custom installation of VMware OSP Tools.
