Description :
The foundation package provides a sanity check for the OSP tools installation, ensuring that no other installations of VMware Tools are present. It is also responsible for adding critical data to our tools database file.

NOTE: This is an OSP component package and is generally not directly installed by end users. The standard practice is to pick a VMware Tools meta packages (such as vmware-tools-esx or vmware-tools-esx-nox) and install it.
