Summary : VMware Tools daemon plugin - Enables automatic backups of virtual machines.
|
Description :
This package contains a plugin for use with the VMware Tools daemon (vmtoolsd). The vmbackup plugin provides functionality for quiescing applications and file systems inside the guest operating system, so that the virtual machine is in a consistent state when creating snapshots or backups. * NOTE: This is an OSP component package and is generally not directly installed by end users. The standard practice is to pick a VMware Tools meta packages (such as vmware-tools-esx or vmware-tools-esx-nox) and install it. Those meta packages will create dependencies on component packages such as this one if necessary. Only install this package directly if you intend to create a custom installation of VMware OSP Tools.
