Summary : Pmount allow mounting devices without fstab modifications
|
Description :
Pmount will allow USERS to mount *EVERYTHING* including hard-drives, usb, firewire, PCMCIA media, etc., without modifying /etc/fstab. If you want all this automated so you dont have to issue the pmount/pumount commands, please install the \'ivman*rpm\' - it allows you to plug-in devices and it takes care of automounting/unmounting via pmount background jobs .. like in Windows .. you\'ll never need to issue mount commands again :)
Configuration file: /etc/pmount.allow (default allows EVERYBODY to use it)
Uses ntfs-3g for NTFS\'s..
Example command line use:
pmount sda1 (read-write) \'uses ntfs-3g\' if sda1 is Windows Vista for ex.) pumount sda1 (unmount) pmount -r sda1 (read-only)
All mounts show up in /mnt/ - that\'s all buh-bye.
