Description :
PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language. Much of its syntax is borrowed from C, Java and Perl with a couple of unique PHP-specific features thrown in. The goal of the language is to allow web developers to write dynamically generated pages quickly.
PHP also offers built-in database integration for several commercial and non-commercial database management systems, so writing a database-enabled webpage with PHP is fairly simple. The most common use of PHP coding is probably as a replacement for CGI scripts. The mod_php module enables the Apache Web server to understand and process the embedded PHP language in HTML documents.
This package contains the command line interface version (also commonly referred to as \"the CGI version\") of PHP. The command line interface version can be used just like any other scripting language, should the need arise.
The CLI version can ofcourse use all the modules available for PHP.
