Summary : Synaps Pointer optimization framework
|
Description :
Pointer design automation software allows you to turn your analysis codes into tools for optimal design and decision making. Pointer automates the \"what-if\" process by using advanced optimization techniques such as genetic algorithm, downhill simplex, and sequential quadratic programming. Pointer can be used for many applications including engineering design, risk analysis, parameter estimation, model design and fitting, and logistics. Give it an analysis code, or set of analysis codes, and Pointer will lead you to the best answer.
Connecting your analysis routines with Pointer is made easy through the use of a graphical scheduler and template editor. These allow you to specify the sequence of code execution as well as how to prepare input files and parse output files. After the straightforward hook-up is complete, you can sit back and watch the computer take the guessing and drudgery out of design work.
Pointer is a commercial product of Synaps, Inc. available for Linux, SGI, HP, and Windows NT. PointerLite is provided free of charge to the Linux community.
After installing this RPM, go to your home directory and type \"pointer\" to perform a user installation. The pointer run script is stored by default in your /usr/local/bin directory.
