Summary : WindowMaker dock app to send the X selection to netscape/mozilla
|
Description :
wmnetselect is a Window Maker dock applet that makes all text on your X display internet-aware, sort of. wmnetselect sends the X selection to your browser (Netscape or Mozilla, usually) when you click on it. In other words, if you select this text:
http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~grapeape/wmfaq.html
and click the middle mouse button on wmnetselect, it will cause your browser to load the web page at this URL. If Netscape is not running, wmnetselect will detect that, and launch Netscape, and then cause Netscape to load the URL. Specify an executable other than netscape with the -e option.
Ctrl-Click displays the web page in a new browser window. Right-Click sends the X selection to the search engine specified with the -w option (defaults to google).
Other features include:
Correctly handles multi-line URLs with embedded newlines and spaces. Detects ftp, email addresses, and local files as URLs. Encodes non-standard characters per RFC 1738.
See the man page for command line options.
